Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Adamawa State and across the world on the celebration of Eid Maulud Nabiyy, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, on Tuesday, the Governor described the Prophet’s birth as a moment of mercy, guidance, and light to humanity, adding that his life and teachings continue to serve as a timeless model of peace, compassion, tolerance, honesty, humility, and selfless service.
“As we celebrate Maulud, I urge all citizens of Adamawa State to reflect on the virtues that the Prophet stood for. Let us emulate his life of sacrifice, forgiveness, love for one another, and dedication to justice and fairness. These are the values that bind us together as one people and one nation,” Governor Fintiri said.
The Governor also urged Muslims and other residents of the state to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in Adamawa and Nigeria at large, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing leadership that guarantees security and welfare, and called on citizens to support government policies while shunning actions capable of breaching peace.
“Government is committed to providing leadership that guarantees security and welfare. I therefore urge citizens to support government policies and to shun acts capable of breaching the peace. Let us live together in harmony irrespective of our faith or background,” he added.
Governor Fintiri wished the Muslim faithful a peaceful and spiritually rewarding celebration, praying that the blessings of Maulud bring renewed hope, progress, and development to Adamawa State.
