The All Progressives Congress has unveiled the full membership of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 general elections, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima leading the team as Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The list, released Saturday morning, brings together a broad coalition of party leaders, state governors, and national figures tasked with delivering victory for the APC at the polls.
Party Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda joins as Vice Chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been named Director-General of the campaign — the engine room driving day-to-day strategy and mobilization.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as Secretary of the Council, supported by APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru as Deputy Secretary, and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Assistant Secretary.
President Tinubu will also be guided by a body of senior advisers, including Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa — a team combining decades of political experience.
To ensure the campaign reaches every corner of the country, the Council has appointed regional and zonal leadership:
- Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as Deputy Director-Generals for the South and North, working alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.
- Senator Adams Oshiomhole takes charge of mobilisation as Deputy Director-General.
- The President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration.
- James Abiodun Faleke, a key figure in the 2022/2023 campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, working with zonal directors across all six geopolitical zones:
- South West — Senator Olushola Adeyeye
- South South — Dr Ngozi Olejeme
- South East — Senator Uche Ekwunife
- North West — Muntaqha Rabe
- North Central — Ahmed Muhammed Ketso
- North East — Senator Sani Danladi
Supporting the planning directorate are Ms Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat, and Audu Maikori as secretaries.
The Council’s legal directorate will be led by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies, alongside Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms, and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
On the communications front, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will coordinate media and strategic communication alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and Lanre Issa-Onilu. They’ll be supported by deputy directors Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala, and Felix Morka.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz leads the media directorate’s coordinating secretaries alongside Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke, and Frederick Nwabufor. Segun Dada returns as Director, New Media — a role he also held in 2022 — with Solomon Arowolo as Secretary, New Media.
Five spokespersons have also been named to carry the party’s message, led by Dele Alake, alongside Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu, and Adamu Fanda.
Addressing the newly constituted Council, President Tinubu called on all members to work tirelessly to secure victory in January 2027, and urged directorate leaders to bring on board dedicated party members not formally listed.
He struck a confident note on the party’s record in office:
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress. We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians.”
He added a rallying call to the campaign ahead:
“As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet — let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation. Let us soundly defeat all those forces who plan to take our country backwards.”
With a structure spanning every geopolitical zone and a leadership team blending experience and fresh energy, the APC Presidential Campaign Council is now fully in motion. All eyes turn to the campaign trail as the party rallies behind President Tinubu’s re-election bid and the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
