Madagali Local Government Area is accustomed to receiving political leaders and dignitaries in moments of celebration, but this particular homecoming was different.
It was a solemn gathering marked by grief, reflection and heartfelt tributes following the painful exit of Ijasini Mbularawa, the District Head of Mildu.
The condolence gathering brought together community leaders, elders and sympathisers, including the APC Adamawa State Chairman, Hon. Hamza Alhaji Bello Madagali, and Ambassador Kevin Peter, who represented the APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Tijjani Galadima.
The atmosphere was deeply emotional. Elderly men struggled to hold back tears as they recalled the life and contributions of the late traditional ruler, whose passing has left a painful vacuum in Mildu and the wider Madagali community.
Yet, amid the grief, the people remained united in their acceptance that life and death remain within the will of Almighty God.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Hamza Alhaji Bello Madagali, himself a son of Madagali Local Government Area, soberly reflected on the late District Head’s acts of goodwill and his relationship with the people.
“The man had a good heart and demonstrated it openly to all people,” the APC State Chairman remarked, describing the deceased as a leader whose kindness and service would remain in the memories of those who knew him.
Ambassador Kevin Peter, speaking on behalf of Alhaji Tijjani Galadima, conveyed the gubernatorial candidate’s condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Madagali.
He explained that although Galadima wished to be personally present, he was deeply moved by the outpouring of affection for the late District Head.
He urged people to emulate the deceased’s commitment to fairness, justice and peaceful coexistence, reminding the gathering that everyone will ultimately return to their Creator and give account of their deeds.
The delegation prayed for the bereaved family, the people of Mildu and the entire Madagali community, asking Almighty God to grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss in good faith.
The visit was more than a political appearance; it was a moment of shared humanity. In the tears of the elders and the testimonies of those who knew him, the late Ijasini Mbularawa was remembered as a traditional leader whose good heart, fairness and service to his people remain worthy of emulation.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
